Wayne Learmouth

Our founder and Principal Clinical Psychologist, Wayne Learmouth, graduated with a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) at Charles Sturt University in 1995 and continued to complete his Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology at the University of Canberra in 1996. Wayne then went on to complete his Masters of Clinical Psychology at Charles Sturt University in 2007. His thesis involved research in to Workplace bullying in the NSW Public Service. He is currently a registered Student-at-Law and is working towards the completion of his Law degree.

Wayne has been a registered psychologist with the NSW Registration Board (No: PS0058202) for over 10 years. He is also an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (Assoc MAPS Member No: ............).

Wayne has provided psychological services to a range of Government Departments including: the Department of Corrections; the Department of Juvenile Justice; the Department of Ageing Disability and Home Care; the Department of Community Services; and the Office of the Public Guardian (in the role of Liaison Officer). He has also provided psychological services to a range of Non-Government organisations including: Lifestyle Solutions; Life Without Barriers; Disability Advocacy Services; Lifeline; and Burnside. He has also maintained a small private practice.

Wayne's primary areas of interest are depression, anxiety, trauma and working with victims of crime. He also provides various assessment and treatment services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Further to this Wayne facilitates training seminars.

Wayne is committed to the provision of evidence-based psychological services, regularly attending seminars and workshops. Wayne's knowledge, skills and experience have allowed him to develop a unique and diverse psychology practice. Wayne has trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (which he is particularly committed to), Narrative Therapy and Behaviour Therapy. Wayne is currently undergoing training to ascertain his.......in Hypnosis??? He is also an accreditated Triple P (the Power of Positive Parenting) provider.

Belynda Stephen

Belynda Stephen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) Honours at the University of Newcastle in 2001. She then went on to complete her Bachelor of Primary Education Studies at Charles Sturt University in 2006.

Belynda is a registered Intern Psychologist with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board (No: PS0107424) and an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society (Assoc MAPS Member No: 037490).

Belynda brings a wealth of child protection / out-of-home care knowledge and experience to our service having been employed by both the Department of Community Services (as a Child Protection Caseworker) and Life Without Barriers (as a Care Coordinator and then Intern Psychologist).

Belynda's primary area of interest is working with children and adolescents. In particular she is interested in childhood and adolescent anxiety, and educational psychology (given her educational background). She is also passionate about the importance of building emotional resilience in our children and young people.

Belynda has had experience in carrying out various child and adolescent assessments and in the development of corresponding treatment interventions. In particular, she has had a great deal of experience in the development of behaviour management plans and the provision of advice for caregivers who have children and adolescents who display challenging behaviours. Belynda has experience in counselling children and adolescents for a variety of issues.

Belynda is dedicated to her ongoing professional development receiving regular professional supervision and training. She is particularly committed to ensuring that she utilises evidence-based psychological practices and that her knowledge and skills are up to date with current psychological research and developments. She has undergone extensive training and obtained her Certificate in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (as issued through Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Australia). She continues to regularly attend workshops and seminars.
